Ensuring food supply in all situations

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the People's Committees of provinces and cities to focus on directing and organizing the implementation of measures to cope with difficulties in agricultural production, supply and consumption.

Given complicated developments of Covid-19 in some localities and to proactively cope with difficulties in agricultural production, supply and consumption in the near future, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development requests the People's Committees of provinces/cities to focus on directing and organizing the implementation of the following areas.

Firstly, increase the implementation of measures to prevent and fight against Covid-19 pandemic according to the Prime Minister’s Directive No. 05/CT-TTg dated January 28, 2021 on some urgent measures to prevent Covid-19 pandemic and directing opinions of the Prime Minister at the Government's regular meeting in January 2021 (February 2, 2021).

Secondly, regularly monitor and update the local agricultural production situation, proactively determine response plans in production, circulation and consumption of agricultural products and foodstuffs when epidemics occur.

Thirdly, quickly report the production situation for cultivation, husbandry, and aquaculture in order to meet the demand for food in the Lunar New Year 2021; the situation of production, circulation and consumption of agricultural products in the coming harvest season.

Fourthly, propose specific solutions to promptly solve local difficulties and problems while the Covid-19 pandemic continues to develop complicatedly, especially in the provinces/cities that have Covid-19 cases (Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Gia Lai, Bac Ninh, Hoa Binh, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Bac Giang) to maintain production and consumption of agricultural products, ensuring food supply in all situations.
