Enfarm, a trailblazing company in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) for measuring and advising farmers on soil nutrition, has been selected from nearly 800 global projects to be showcased at the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit, taking place in Paris from February 10-11, 2025.

This prestigious event, hosted by the French government, brings together national leaders, CEOs of major corporations, top scholars, and civil society representatives from all over the world. The summit serves as a platform to discuss the future directions of AI development, focusing on how to create sustainable, innovative solutions that address societal and environmental needs.

Enfarm’s cutting-edge technology will be on display at the iconic Grand Palais, a world-renowned exhibition center located along the famous Champs-Élysées in Paris. Here, Enfarm has the opportunity to present its solutions to hundreds of delegates, policy makers and industry experts from diverse countries.

Among the nearly 800 global projects, Enfarm stands out as one of only four representatives from Asia. This highlights the innovative capabilities of the Vietnamese engineering team in developing technologies that can address global challenges.

Breakthroughs in sustainable agriculture with Enfarm's solutions

One of the most significant challenges facing the agriculture industry today, which Enfarm is actively working to address, is the inefficiency in fertilizer use. Every year, more than 60% of the fertilizer applied to crops is not absorbed by the plants. This massive waste not only results in a considerable economic loss but also has severe environmental consequences. It contributes to the degradation of vast agricultural land around the world and accounts for approximately 5% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

By integrating soil sensor data with an intelligent mobile application, Enfarm leverages machine learning technology to enhance the precision of low-cost sensors, providing highly effective recommendations to farmers. The technology has been tested on coffee plantations in Dak Lak, where it demonstrated an impressive 30% increase in crop yields and a reduction of 30% in fertilizer use.

Dr. Ho Long Phi, the co-founder of Enfarm and a former member of the National Advisory Council on Climate Change, has positioned the company at the forefront of revolutionizing agriculture. His goal is for Enfarm to contribute to a low-emission agricultural model that still ensures high productivity. This approach is crucial to meet the growing demand for food, projected to increase by 70% by 2050, a challenge forecasted by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Vision and future orientation

According to Mr. Nguyen Do Dung, co-founder and CEO of Enfarm, climate change is rendering traditional farming methods outdated. A clear example of this is the low fruit-setting rates in the Mekong Delta or the issue of unripe durians in the Central Highlands.

In this context, Enfarm offers an opportunity to support farmers not only in improving productivity but also in increasing their income, thus contributing to the development of sustainable agriculture. Currently, the company is focusing on building a large database on soil, fertilizers, and crops, with the goal of achieving groundbreaking advancements in 2025 that will revolutionize agricultural production methods.

With cutting-edge technology as its foundation, Enfarm is aiming to expand into ASEAN markets by 2025, leveraging the opportunities arising from the increasing value of agricultural products, the challenges posed by climate change, and the pressing need to ensure food security in the region.
