Efficient deployment of Vietnamese agricultural products to the global market

(VAN) In response to the National Assembly, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son emphasized that efforts to promote Vietnamese agricultural products globally have been carried out with remarkable efficacy.

On the afternoon of March 18, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son addressed interpellations at the National Assembly regarding recent diplomatic issues.

Delegate Nguyen Minh Tam from Quang Binh province highlighted the challenges faced by agricultural businesses in accessing global markets with Vietnamese agricultural products.

According to the report made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recent efforts have primarily been made in a reactionary manner, with a focus on implementing protective measures and legal assistance in response to specific issues as they arise.

Consequently, delegates proposed Minister Bui Thanh Son to outline the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' plans for collaborating with relevant ministries and sectors to proactively assist businesses in obtaining and accessing information to protect their rights.

Furthermore, the Minister addressed issues regarding green and digital economies. Accordingly, delegates requested the minister to elaborate on the opportunities and challenges that local governments face in capitalizing on emerging prospects, with an emphasis on Vietnam's newly-formed and potential partnerships.

In addressing the aforementioned concerns, Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized Vietnam's effective deployment of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products globally within the last few years. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, has signed agreements to promote and market Vietnamese agricultural products worldwide.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently provide consultation for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the government regarding new food safety policies, policies on wood and forest products, and the removal of the yellow warning card for the fisheries sector.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also assigned ambassadors to directly participate in the exportation of new agricultural products to global markets.

Regarding inquiries related to green, digital, and energy transformations, the minister affirmed the need for Vietnam to study from developed countries. It is imperative for Vietnam to learn from experiences and achievements, and enhance cooperation in capital, science, and technology for green transformation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to provide information to local governments and businesses regarding new international standards and trends, with an emphasis on the fields of digital and green transformation.

By drawing on international experiences, the ministry will provide consultation on policy matters concerning green and renewable energy transitions, assist local governments in establishing and strengthening relationships with partners, and promote trade, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people interactions between Vietnam and its partners.
