(VAN) When the price of dragon fruit is dirt cheap and the loss remains enormous, many farmers in Binh Thuan have shifted into another plant, while others have determined to maintain the fruit crop.
(VAN) Localities in Binh Thuan Province have been requested to monitor and handle harmful organisms in cultivated areas and establishments packing dragon fruits for export to China.
(VAN) The price of Binh Thuan's dragon fruits now varies between VND 500 to VND 3,000 per kilogram depending quality. Meanwhile the main crop of dragon fruits is going to enter its peak harvest.
(VAN) Binh Thuan province aims to develop sustainable dragon fruit in the direction of intensive farming, increase productivity, and improve quality for domestic consumption and export.
(VAN)- With the characteristic of crispy, firm flesh, sweet taste mixing with mild sourness, and full of aroma, purple-pink fleshed dragon fruit is currently exported to Europe by a company in Binh Thuan.
(VAN)- Among the total 85% output of dragon fruit export, only 2-3% is going through official channels. The remaining is consumed in the form of border trade thus resulting in potential risks for business transactions.
Vietnam’s export value of dragon fruit last year sharply declined due to COVID-19 pandemic but still topped US$1 billion.
