Dragon fruit importers encouraged to stay current on border trade situation

(VAN) The Binh Thuan Department of Industry and Trade recently published a paper outlining the current status of goods imports and exports in the Lang Son provincial border region.

According to the department, China's tighter control over northern border gates has continued to struggle with agriculture and fruit consumption in the province, especially dragon fruits.

As a result, in order to ensure the smooth export of Binh Thuan dragon fruits to China's market and avoid the stagnation of export vehicles and goods, resulting in losses to businesses and people, the department requested that all People's Committees at all levels, Provincial industrial park management boards, Provincial cooperative unions, and the Binh Thuan Dragon Fruit Association promptly notify the above. From there, these stakeholders may create active manufacturing and commercial strategies while also coordinating the regulation and transportation of products to suitable border crossing gates points.

Bien Tan Tai, Deputy Director of the Binh Thuan Department of Industry and Trade, stressed that it is essential for companies to constantly update information, the import and export status at border gates, and guidelines on disease prevention and control along the Lang Son provincial border.

Thus, they may take the initiative in harvesting, buying commodities, planning the transportation of goods to the border gate to guarantee disease prevention and control, as well as appropriate import and export of goods to avoid agricultural product congestion and economic loss.

Additionally, actively research, learn, and update the export market's situation and requirements; paying close attention to implementing export transactions in accordance with international standards via foreign trade contracts, contacting partners to negotiate a gradual transition to official form to mitigate risk.

The Binh Thuan Department of Industry and Trade recommended that the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development continue to review the production situation and specifically guide localities in developing reasonable production plans in line with forecasted consumption market demand in the coming time. To prevent a scenario of local surplus crises, prices plummet dramatically.

Prioritize research and use of advanced technology in preservation and processing; encourage businesses to invest in renewing equipment, advanced, modern, and synchronous technology lines; diversify processed goods; and improve deep processing. Encourage companies to invest in value chain connections with farmers.
