Dong Thap needs to add 100 billion VND in ODA capital in 2024

Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thien, Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, said: The project, infrastructure development in Dong Thap province, was signed by the Vietnamese Government with a loan agreement with the Saudi Arabia Development Fund in 2018, with 2 components: Component 1, upgrading the flood prevention dyke system combined with rural traffic (more than 64km). Component 2, upgrading other rural infrastructure systems to ensure operation during the flood season (more than 31km). The project is implemented in 5 communes of Cu Lao Tay in Thanh Binh district.

Currently, the infrastructure development project in Dong Thap provincehas completed 7/9 bidding packages, with a total progress of about 75%. Up to now, Dong Thap has disbursed 100% of the total ODA capital plan in 2024 for the infrastructure development project in Dong Thap province.

The infrastructure development project in Dong Thap province is expected to be supplemented with an additional VND 100 billion in ODA capital allocated from the Central budget. However, up to now the project has not been supplemented with this ODA capital. Therefore, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province is requesting the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning and Investment to consider, soon synthesize, and advise and submit to the Prime Minister for consideration and arrangement of additional VND 100 billion in ODA capital in 2024 for localities to soon implement the project (project will end on December 31, 2024).
