On May 20, under the witness of Vinh Long Provincial People’s Committee authorities, MS2019 Master Ruma Food Company Limited and Japan’s NiJita Hi-tech Investment Joint Stock Company signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement on commercial joint venture and digitalization of rice manufacture process.

Accordingly, the agreement includes comprehensive cooperation and the implementation of digitalization of all stages of organic rice manufacture at Hieu Thuan Organic Village Cooperative. The output products must be ensured to meet standards of organic and requirements to export to the Japanese market.

Vietnamese MS2019 Master Ruma is responsible for the production while the Japanese partner is in charge of exporting.

Director of MS2019 Master Ruma Vo Thi Ngoc said: “As the raw material area of MS2019 Master Ruma purple and milky white rice are manufactured according to organic standards at Hieu Thuan Organic Village Cooperative (Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province), the company signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement and implements digitization and application of high technology to manage this production area. In the coming time, we plan to implement the first step of organic rice production on 50 hectares and the expand gradually according to market demand."

NiJita company’s representative Ngo Thi Bich added that the company also wants to apply Japanese technology in how to protect the stage from sowing to harvesting. Even the fertilizers used by the cooperative must be controlled by the Japanese side.

Due to the strict requirements from the Japanese market, all products must be ensured to meet the standards for export. The digitalization in the organic rice manufacture process is also the foundation for us to commit products’ quality to consumers.

Deputy Director of Vinh Long's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Van Huu Hue said relying on cooperatives and enterprises is the most effective way to uplift Vietnam’s agriculture to the world market. This cooperation is the first step for Vietnamese agricultural products including those from Vinh Long agricultural products, to move further to the global market and contribute to the economic development of households and members of the cooperative. It is also the basis for the economic development of the province in organic and clean production.
