Development associated with conservation so that the Sa Pa tourist can reach the international level

On the evening of September 23, Lao Cai province held a ceremony to celebrate 120 years of tourism in Sa Pa. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended and gave a directive speech.

Attending the Celebration, there were delegates: Tran Hong Ha, Deputy Prime Minister; Hau A Lenh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister - Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities; Ha Thi Nga, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Nguyen Huu Van, former member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former State Auditor General, former Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee; leaders of ministries, departments, branches, organizations at the Central Government and provinces and cities in the country; Representatives of corporations and businesses.

On the side of Lao Cai province, there were delegates: Dang Xuan Phong, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam; Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Vu Xuan Cuong, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrades, members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; Standing People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of Lao Cai province through periods; leaders of departments, branches, branches, unions and leaders of districts, towns, cities, and businesses in the province; crowds of people and tourists.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, along with the priceless gifts bestowed by nature, the colorful cultural space of the people passed down from many generations has created the unique attraction of tourism. Sa Pa calendar for the past 120 years. This is also a valuable lesson in cultural development because culture endures when it becomes an indispensable part of the socio-economic life of the community.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that Sa Pa is progressing to become an international tourism and resort center with diverse and unique tourism products and a cultural exchange point in the Northern Midlands mountain regions.

Therefore, in the process of developing Sa Pa tourism, there needs to be comprehensive and synchronous solutions in organizing and implementing the general planning for building the Sa Pa National Tourist Area approved by the Prime Minister, aiming to A Sa Pa that develops sustainably, harmoniously and proactively adapts to climate change and prevents natural disasters.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha also proposed that ministries and central branches must coordinate closely and promptly to remove difficulties and obstacles, prioritize synchronous infrastructure development, and build mechanisms to attract resources to Vietnam and human resources to invest and develop the Sa Pa tourism value chain sustainably.

The 16th Lao Cai Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, identified tourism development as one of two breakthrough fields, striving to 2030, Lao Cai tourism will be a key, breakthrough economic sector for the province to become an important economic sector and the driving force for the socio-economic development of the province by 2050. In particular, Sa Pa National Tourist Area is oriented to develop comprehensively and synchronously, becoming an international, national tourism and resort center, with synchronous and modern infrastructure and services; diverse, unique, rich, high-quality, branded, attractive tourism products attract domestic and international tourists.

Localities need to implement the principle of development coupled with conservation and consider values, natural landscape, culture, and architectural identity as the core; Sa Pa's ethnic community is both the subject, the target, the driving force, and the beneficiary of development results.

Previously, speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong emphasized that this is an important event, a festival of the ethnic people of Lao Cai province and Sa Pa in general, marking a solid development step and opening a new period on the upward development path of Lao Cai tourism; also, it is an opportunity for the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Lao Cai province to pay tribute to Uncle Ho on the 65th anniversary of Uncle Ho's visit to Lao Cai (September 23, 1958 - September 23, 2023).

Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee affirmed that to have a developed Sa Pa like today, the Party Committee, government, and people of Lao Cai ethnic groups in general and Sa Pa in particular always determine that Sa Pa is not only important destination of the province but also a National Tourist Area on an international level; always focus on preserving, conserving and promoting unique traditional cultural values, taking natural landscapes and cultural heritage as the driving force; Adaptability and dynamism make breakthroughs to strive towards green and sustainable development.
