Avian flu and Newcastle disease are two hazardous diseases in poultry due to their fast and vigorous spread and their ability to affect human health. Newcastle disease is caused by a virus with no specific treatment and usually occurs mainly in households. When the disease occurs, it often leads to fatality in chickens.

Being recognized by the Department of Animal Health as areas free of Newcastle disease is considered a remarkable achievement for the efforts of the local government. These efforts include their management of livestock production and disease control, increased competitiveness, and sustainable development.
