The Green Business of the Year award is designed to celebrate enterprises that excel in reducing their environmental impact and effectively integrating sustainable practices into their overall business strategies.

De Heus Group earned this accolade due to its significant contributions to fostering sustainable development. The company has successfully incorporated groundbreaking initiatives into its production processes and livestock management practices

Over the course of its 15-year journey to enhance livestock farming in Vietnam, De Heus Viet Nam has made continuous strides in innovating and perfecting sustainable solutions within the industry. Central to this effort is the Responsible Feeding program, which emphasizes optimizing production processes, reducing environmental impact, and generating positive contributions to local communities.

A standout feature of De Heus’s initiatives is its research and development (R&D) centers in Vietnam, which are at the forefront of pioneering advancements in the sector. These centers are exploring innovative practices, including the implementation of recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) for mangrove shrimp farming and the promotion of antibiotic-free livestock raising techniques.

Moreover, De Heus is dedicated to the use of sustainable raw materials in its animal feed production. This includes sourcing soybeans from regions that do not engage in deforestation. The company is also actively engaged in experimenting with new feed ingredients that can help lessen the impacts of climate change and promote biodiversity conservation.

The company is also advancing its commitment to environmental stewardship by promoting delivery systems that utilize silos, eliminating the need for plastic packaging and thereby reducing plastic waste.
