A feed mill of De Heus.
MNS Feed comprises 13 feed mills and one premix plant with a total combined production of nearly 4 million tons. Therefore the purchase will consolidate De Heus’s position in Southeast Asia’s largest animal feed market.
Apart from the transaction of feed business, De Heus and Masan agreed to come to multiple long-term strategic supply agreements in which De Heus will supply Masan with feed and hogs.
The transaction allows both companies to optimize and drive productivity of Vietnam’s 3F (feed-farm-food) animal protein value chain, by leveraging on each respective parties’ strength and capabilities.
As a family owned and operated business in animal nutrition, De Heus is strongly committed to support and contribute to the sustainable production of safe and healthy feed and food.
With the ambition of becoming a reliable partner in farming value chain, enabling farmers and feed distributors to grow together, the acquisition of MNS Feed is a strategic step that supports De Heus’s focus on offering high quality nutrition, genetics and farm managements solutions to the Vietnamese market
As part of the transaction, De Heus and Masan MEATLife (MML) have reached numerous supply agreements including a long term hog supply deal.
Accordingly, De Heus will ensure a stable supply of healthy pigs for meat production via introducing high-quality pig breeds of Topigs Norsvin – one of the world’s leading swine genetics companies to its farms.
With the decision on forming a combined feed organization, De Heus, a global corporation with more than 100 years of nutritional experience and more than a decade of dynamic growth in Vietnam and MNS Feed as a pioneer in animal nutrition with successful heritage brands, will together create a strong company, becoming the largest animal nutrition enterprise in the Vietnamese market.
