Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province, will host the "Conference on International Trade Exchange – Connecting and Elevating Vietnam's Coffee" on March 11. The event is organized by the People’s Committee of Dak Lak Province, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association.
The conference is a part of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Buon Ma Thuot Victory and the liberation of Dak Lak Province (March 10, 1975 – March 10, 2025), as well as the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2025.
The event is expected to bring in approximately 600 delegates, including representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, relevant departments and agencies, international organizations, and trade partners from the UK, Germany, Japan, the US, Australia, Singapore, South Korea, China, Brazil, and other countries.
As well as representatives from cooperatives, industry associations, farms, and business households in Dak Lak Province, this year's conference will also hold domestic and international enterprises that are involved in coffee production, trade, and export, as well as major supermarket and agricultural retail chains like Lotte, AEON, Go, Winmart, Co.op Mart, and Mega Market. Representatives from digital transformation service providers (VNPT, Viettel, FPT), logistics organizations, and e-commerce platforms (Alibaba, SenDo, Shopee, Voso, Tiki, Lazada) will also be present.
The conference is expected to be a turning point in the journey to bring Dak Lak coffee further and enhance its position in the international market. Photo: TL.
Two parts will be the primary focus of the conference. At first, it will discuss the standards and regulations that govern coffee production and exports, with a particular emphasis on the adherence to EUDR regulations in the coffee-growing regions of Dak Lak and the Central Highlands to guarantee the quality of exported coffee. Secondly, it will prioritize trade promotion, cultivating business relationships, and pursuing partnerships in the coffee consumption sector with the objective of increasing Vietnamese coffee exports to global markets.
This conference will foster stronger connections among policymakers, scientists, traders, and coffee producers, thereby facilitating dialogue, collaboration, and support. This will assist producers in adhering to sustainable coffee production practices, thereby improving their livelihoods, increasing their income, and enhancing the value of their products.
Simultaneously, the event will facilitate the efficient execution of the Party and State's policies regarding the transmission of contemporary and sophisticated scientific and technical innovations in the production of premium coffee. It will also facilitate trade promotion activities, business networking, and export expansion, thereby enhancing the export value of Dak Lak's coffee.

Additionally, the conference will offer opportunities for export-import enterprises, localities, merchants, and distributors to establish connections, deepen mutual understanding, seek partners, promote trade, and expand cooperation in coffee consumption. This will be instrumental in increasing the global recognition and consumption of Buon Ma Thuot coffee among domestic and international organizations and individuals.
The conference will also include presentations on critical topics, such as the global coffee market outlook and consumption trends by representatives of the International Coffee Organization (ICO), Vietnam's strategy to adapt to EUDR regulations by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the role of enterprises in elevating Vietnamese coffee and building. With the guidance of Trung Nguyen Coffee Corporation, Buon Ma Thuot has emerged as a coffee destination of international distinction.
The conference will include business networking activities, presentations, and seminars, as well as a coffee product exhibition that will feature products from businesses in Dak Lak and other provinces. This will offer enterprises the chance to bolster their partnerships with domestic and international stakeholders and introduce their products.
Buon Ma Thuot City and other districts throughout Dak Lak Province will host the 9th Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival 2025 from March 9 to March 13, 2025. There will be 17 official events at this year's festival, including several new highlights.
