The Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee is promoting investment in three projects in Ea H'leo District with a total investment capital of 350 billion VND. According to the district's government, Ea H'leo boasts over 133,000 hectares of natural land area, with nearly 80,000 hectares (79,804.13 hectares) dedicated to agricultural production. Additionally, roughly 65% of this area consists of fertile basalt soil, which is highly suitable for agricultural development.

Pham Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of the Ea H'leo District People's Committee, noted that the agricultural sector in the district enjoys substantial yields and numerous advantages. However, businesses and agricultural product processing facilities in the district and surrounding areas are limited in both scale and quality.

"The majority of agricultural products from the district are sold in raw form at low prices, failing to fully utilize the local potential and advantages. As a result, investing in large-scale processing plants for post-harvest agricultural products is crucial, as it represents a significant opportunity for local businesses to undertake investment projects," Vice Chairman Khoi explained.

He added that these streams of investment will greatly contribute to the socio-economic development of the district, protect national defense and security, and motivate farmers to engage in production, thereby promoting sustainable agriculture and a circular economy in the region.

Vice Chairman Pham Van Khoi reported that the local government has proactively engaged with businesses to promptly address challenges and streamline the project preparation process, with the aim of facilitating project attraction and implementation within the region.

Accordingly, local agencies have consistently updated information and improved their database with a focus on potentials, legal frameworks, socio-economic conditions, investment procedures, investment incentives, and planning. The collected information is available on electronic platforms for both domestic and foreign investors.

"The district aims to fully support investing businesses by reducing intermediary costs, improving access to preferential funding sources, and utilizing state support. We will implement measures to expedite the completion of industrial cluster infrastructure, inter-communal transport systems, and rural roads to support agricultural production in addition to facilitating the movement of goods and promoting accessibility for investors. We will also organize dialogues between the district leadership and the business community with the aim of resolving challenges faced by investors," Vice Chairman Khoi emphasized.

Significant potential for investment promotion

Nguyen Hoai Duong, General Director of the Dak Lak Province's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, stated that Dak Lak possesses substantial potential for agricultural development.

However, General Director Duong remarked that the province is relatively limited in terms of investment promotion activities for the agricultural sector, particularly for agricultural production and processing. Notably, agricultural processing accounts for only 10 to 15% of the province's total activities. Despite the multifaceted challenge, it also presents a valuable opportunity for interested investors.

"The province is currently rapidly improving its infrastructure, especially with the upcoming completion of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway. This development creates significant opportunities to reduce investment costs and enhance efficiency," General Director Duong stated.

According to General Director Duong, attracting additional projects to the province will enable local residents to engage in production with confidence and establish stable, high-quality raw material areas for processing. The presence of investing businesses represents a positive development direction for the province, promoting concentrated agricultural production with traceable origins that meet quality standards. Notably, local residents will have the opportunity to cooperate and establish production linkages with businesses.

"These projects will create employment opportunities for local residents and contribute significantly to the budget revenue. Resolution No. 17 from the Provincial Party Committee emphasizes the urgent need for policies and decisive measures to attract investment in agriculture. Dak Lak Province has substantial potential, and the province requires strong solutions to utilize these advantages and attract investment in the near future," General Director Duong emphasized.

According to Nguyen Thien Van, Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, the investment promotion initiative aims to ensure that local products will serve as a driving force for both the business community and local residents. "Deep processing businesses that invest in the province will help establish a linkage chain, thereby supporting residents in securing product sales and processing locally to enhance agricultural value immediately within the province."

"Dak Lak Province is committed to supporting businesses and developing specific incentives for each sector. For agriculture, the province supports the development of large model fields and fosters connections between businesses and local farmers to create stable raw material areas for processing. Additionally, the province will provide assistance with land and procedures to facilitate the establishment of factories," Vice Chairman Van commented.
