Cooperation agreement on production and consumption of organic agricultural products

(VAN) On March 5, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee and Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement on production and consumption of organic agricultural products

Among the participants were leaders of Dong Nai People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments and agencies; People's Committees of districts, towns and cities across the province and leaders of Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company.

Cooperation in production and consumption of organic agricultural products between Dong Nai People's Committee and Que Lam Group Joint Stock Company will last for 4 years (2022 - 2026): The two sides will coordinate to build and replicate models of organic agricultural production in the production chain associated with processing and consumption of provincial key products such as rice, vegetables, fruit trees, cocoa, pepper, coffee, cashew nuts, medicinal products, non-timber forest products, organic, biosafety pig and shrimp farming;

Disseminate technical equipment, technology, input materials, production process of microbial organic fertilizer; train and guide officials, farmers and producers according to agricultural standards in the direction of organic; forming focal points such as cooperative groups, cooperatives in organic agricultural production and circular agriculture. Additionally, Que Lam Group supports the consumption of products from organic agricultural models, implemented in Dong Nai province...

Mr. Nguyen Hong Lam, Chairman of Que Lam Group said excitedly: “We chose to cooperate with Dong Nai to build an organic agricultural area, a circular agriculture, towards green, clean, safe and hygienic food, to serve human life and to keep up with the trends of eating well and dressing well, living a long and healthy life. We hope that Dong Nai is capable because the locality is now the "capital" of livestock, farming and industrial production. We affirm that the cooperation of Que Lam Group with Dong Nai province will be successful."

According to Mr. Lam, this cooperation also expects farmers to change their perception and production thinking; additionally, organic agriculture and circular agriculture requires aspiration to yield high economic efficiency. Que Lam Group's goal is towards economic efficiency, sustainability and environment; especially protecting the interests of people and farmers.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Phi, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee emphasized: "Although Dong Nai is an industrial province, the role of the agricultural sector as well as the value of agricultural production is quite important. The province is also interested in organic agricultural production. Que Lam Group is a company with a lot of experience and success in organic production, including cultivation, animal husbandry and seafood.

Dong Nai also set a goal to develop organic agriculture in the cultivation, animal husbandry and aquaculture sectors. The implementation of the cooperation agreement signed with Que Lam Group to develop organic agriculture aims to solidify the goal of developing the agricultural and rural economy of Dong Nai in the immediate future.

According to Mr. Phi, organic agricultural production is a development trend of the society, so the development of organic agriculture helps farmers produce sustainable agriculture, associated with high quality, high value products and help farmers build a chain from which production and consumption are sustainable, stable and improve production efficiency.  

“In recent years, Dong Nai province has focused on promoting the application of advanced science and technology to agricultural production, considering this as a breakthrough solution to improve productivity, quality and added value of agricultural products. However, in the production process, there are still limitations on pesticide residues, microorganisms and antibiotics in agricultural products, affecting product quality and the environment. Therefore, organic farming is the direction of agriculture in Dong Nai province in the future to meet domestic demands and export," said Mr. Vo Van Phi.
