Cooperating with businesses to establish high-quality human resources

'University and institutes need to be well-connected to build a strategy on human resource development for the period 2021-25', said Mr. Le Quoc Doanh, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Speaking at the Conference on “Training activities in 2020” taking place at Vietnam – Russia College of Electromechanics and Construction this morning (19/10), Deputy Minister Le Quoc Doanh said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is a multi-disciplinary and multi-sector entity, therefore the education and training system within the Ministry is diverse. The Ministry manages a system of multiple large Institutions with many professors and doctors. Each institute has its function in postgraduate training.

Deputy Minister, at the same time, highly appreciated the contribution of universities and colleges under the Ministry to the agricultural sector. “Most of managers, scientists and government officials in many localities graduated and grew up from universities and colleges under the Ministry.” said Mr. Doanh.

Mr. Doanh also underlined that the current vocational school system has trained a diverse labor force, not only for agricultural sector but also for the rural economic development as a whole. Many schools have significantly innovated with an aim to meeting general requirements of the society.

“The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is currently paying great attention to the building of human resources for the sector, which is demonstrated by its plan to strongly invest in the development of human resources of the whole system. As a result, mid-term policies on the development of human resources will be implemented”, added Mr. Doanh.

Over the years, universities and colleges under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development have actively cooperated with enterprises and international partners in training, research and academic exchanges with an aim to bringing a fresh “breath” to the development of human resources.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Viet, Vice Rector of Hanoi Water Resources University shared that the university has intensively enhanced its international cooperation strategy through which the international cooperation network so far has been widely covered. The university has been maintaining and strengthening its existing cooperation with foreign countries as well as international organizations especially Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Netherlands, Italy and the former Eastern European countries…

In addition, the university has also set up cooperation with new partners such as ADB, Australia and India…According to statistics, since 2006, the number of its international partners has sharply increased and around 700 memorandum of understanding ̣(MOUs) have been signed during this period.

Particularly in terms of international cooperation, educational cooperation with leading universities in the world has continually developed. The connection with Eastern Europe universities, especially extension in educational cooperation with foreign enterprises have provided students with valuable skills to integrate into the international working environment.

Besides international cooperation, cooperation between the university and enterprises has brought about multiple benefits. Rector of Hanoi College of Electromechanics shared that the cooperation with enterprises would support various stages in training process. For example, enterprises participate in job consultation and orientation for students; enterprises involve in revising and designing training programs associated with their own technology.

According to Mr. Ngoc, it will be much more convenient to apply the technology of a certain enterprise to the university when such enterprise engages in the training process. In such situation, the university and the enterprise will share the same half in the training process. When the cooperation reaches a high and in-depth level, job solution should meet 100% of the demand.
