Connecting agricultural science and technology products to enterprises, cooperatives and individuals

(VAN) The forum under the auspice of VAN was launched as an opportunity for scientists, enterprises, cooperatives, and MARD leaders to discuss orientation to promote science and technology to agricultural life.

On July 7, MARD held a forum connecting agricultural science and technology products to enterprises, cooperatives, and individuals. The event was co-hosted by MARD Minister Le Minh Hoan, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment (MARD) Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, and Editor-in-Chief of VAN Nguyen Ngoc Thach. 

The forum drew the attendance of nearly 200 delegates from research institutes, colleges, universities of and out of the Ministry, enterprises, associations, cooperations, and foreign organizations. 

Within the framework of the event at MARD headquarter, the Ministry held “Exhibition of Agricultural Science and Technology Products” and “Forum on Connecting Agricultural Science and Technology Products to Enterprises, Cooperatives, and Individuals”. The program was under the media sponsorship of Vietnam Agriculture News (VAN). 

The attendees included Mr. Nguyen Phu Hung, Director of the Department of Science and Technology for Economic Sectors, Ministry of Science and Technology. The speakers participating in the forum were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Son - Director of the Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Ms. Tran Kim Lien - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Seed Corporation; Dr. Nguyen Cong Tiep - Deputy Director of the Vietnam Academy of Agriculture; Mr. Tran Trung Duc - Chairman and Director of VIBA Banana Cooperative; and Dr. Nguyen Duc Hung - Director of Global Food Import-Export Company Ltd.

Additionally, there were leaders from units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; heads of units: Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Vietnam Academy of Forestry Science, Vietnam Academy of Water Resources, Institute of Animal Science, Veterinary Institute, Institute of Aquaculture I, II, III, Institute of Marine Science, Institute of Electrical Engineering and Post-Harvest Technology, Institute of Policy and Rural Development; Vietnam Academy of Agriculture; universities and colleges in the field of agriculture and rural development; and the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper.

Many new scientific and technological achievements were introduced in the exhibition space of the forum, such as new plant and animal varieties, technological processes, technical advances, and 82 exclusive patents and useful solutions that can be immediately transferred to businesses and people.

This series of events serves as a bridge to form, develop, and spread many ideas and collaborative research transfer projects, attracting all social resources to accompany the agricultural sector and farmers, and bringing new technologies and technical advances into practical production.

At the conference, under the witness of Minister Le Minh Hoan, cooperation agreements were signed for technology transfer in various fields:

Crop Cultivation and Plant Protection:

- Cuong Tan Co., Ltd. and the Plant Resources Center - Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences: Signed a cooperation agreement to develop the purebred LH12 rice variety.

Forestry:

- Thanh Tam Interior Wood Processing Joint Stock Company and the Vietnam Academy of Forestry Science: Signed a service provision, consulting, and technology transfer contract in the field of forest industry, processing, and preserving forest products.

Aquaculture:

- Truong Phu Quy Trading and Transportation Co., Ltd. and Institute of Aquaculture Research I: Signed a contract to develop sustainable rice-rươi farming.

- Dac Loc Aquaculture Co., Ltd. and Institute of Aquaculture Research III: Signed a contract for research, survey, and promotion program development for the conservation and development of lobster breeding in Vietnam.

- Quan Minh Co., Ltd. and Institute of Aquaculture Research III: Signed a contract for scientific and technological research and training for the development of marine farming, targeting mollusks and marine fish.

- Thanh Tung Co., Ltd. and Institute of Marine Science: Signed a contract for scientific research, technology transfer consulting, product promotion in the field of seafood processing, and enhancing production efficiency.

- Viet Truong Co., Ltd. and Institute of Marine Science: Signed a contract for scientific research, technology transfer consulting, product promotion in the field of seafood processing.

Mechanical Engineering and Post-Harvest Technology:

- Global Food Import-Export Corporation with the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Post-Harvest Technology: Signed a research and technology transfer contract for separating and removing bitterness from canned Sành orange juice; technology for extracting clear banana juice in cans.

- Fusa Organic Agriculture Joint Stock Company with the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Post-Harvest Technology: Signed a contract for the rapid freezing technology transfer using liquid for fruits (lychee, longan) for export, with a scale of 1,000 tons/year.

- Eco Hoa Binh Joint Stock Company with the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Post-Harvest Technology: Signed a technology transfer contract for extracting instant tea powder from Shan Tuyet tea with a scale of 600 tons of fresh tea/year.

Water Resources and Disaster Prevention:

- D&L Technology Consulting and Integration Corporation (DLCORP) and Water Resources University: Signed a cooperation agreement to develop and improve solutions for water resource management, dam safety monitoring, reservoir operation management, flood warning, and digitalization of hydraulic infrastructure systems.
