China temporarily suspend the import of dragon fruit until January 26, 2022

(VAN) Lang Son received information regarding China's temporary suspension on dragon fruit imports from December 29, 2021, until January 26 next year.

According to the Border Gate Management Center, Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Economic Zone, this unit receives information from the Steering Committee of the COVID-19 pandemic Prevention and Control Leading Group, Pingxiang Town, Guangxi, China, with their decision to cancel the dragon fruit.

According to them, the content in the text of the Steering Committee of Diseases Prevention and Control of Pingxiang Town, China sent to China’s Friendship Customs informs its cancellation, denying acceptance of refrigerated goods, specifically dragon fruit.

On the China side, they will suspend the import of dragon fruit from 0:00 on December 29, 2021, to 24:00 on January 26, 2022.

The Border Gate Management Center also made direct contact with the Pingxiang Trade Bureau (China) to gather information, the Pingxiang Trade Bureau confirmed the information to be true.

At the time of the report, through exchange with Tan Thanh Border Gate Customs Department, the number of dragon fruit trucks waiting for export in Bao Nguyen yard is 462 vehicles. 

According to the International Friendship Border Gate Customs Department, the number of dragon fruit trucks that have been declared awaiting for export is 48 (contacts with the Transshipment and Non-tariff checkpoint have been made but the number of dragon fruit trucks waiting for export cannot be determined).

The Border Gate Management Center has reported to the Management Board of the Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone for revision, contacting China to exchange and solve problems and difficulties.
