There are over 1,400 medium and small-scale cashew processing plants in Binh Phuoc. To serve the cashew industry, the province is promoting subordinating technology and mechanical technology. There is tremendous potential for promoting the brand name of Binh Phuoc's cashew on the international market, but only a small number of businesses in the region are capable of doing so.
The reason is that the majority of businesses found it challenging to alter their mindset and strategic vision. Director of the Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion in Binh Phuoc, Tran Quoc Duy, stated that expanding the market is not only the narrative of basic exports or bringing products abroad but also the strengthening of deep processing and more innovative operations.
Businesses either introduce new cashew products or incorporate cashew into daily dishes, such as perch braised in milk, etc. Currently, enterprises in Binh Phuoc are concentrating on creating high-quality raw materials for cashew nuts; organic cashews have appeared in Binh Phuoc, a pure and sustainable raw material area that will position the domestic market, advancing towards exporting deep-processed products to the global market.
The province of Binh Phuoc aims to construct a sustainable cashew industry, improve quality and diversify products, introduce high-added value, and establish a reputation for its cashew industry.
In the field of processing, between now and 2025, Binh Phuoc aims to stabilize the current designed capacity (500,000 tons/year); complete the branding of Binh Phuoc cashew products; process 10,000 tons of cashew kernels annually; and achieve an export turnover of over 800 million USD.
In order to reach this objective, Binh Phuoc will reorganize cashew processing enterprises in accordance with the following criteria: large-scale, cutting-edge machinery and technology, quality products, and sufficient global market competitiveness. Effectively organize the implementation of national technical regulations, and inspect and evaluate the conditions for assuring food safety in food processing facilities. Establishments that do not guarantee food safety should be punished severely.
After spending many years importing raw materials and refining them for re-export, the cashew industry has begun to focus on the domestic market and develop a strategy to win over domestic consumers. To increase product value, cashew processing businesses and establishments have aggressively invested in new technology and undergone extensive processing. Gleichzeitig, businesses have collaborated with farmers to construct planting areas, thereby resolving the "hunger" for clean basic materials for production.
As one of the prominent enterprises in the province of Binh Phuoc's cashew industry's exploitation and economic development, My Le Co., Ltd. quickly noticed the industry's challenges. In addition to maintaining the production and processing of white kernels for export, the company quickly reached agreements with local cashew producers to construct raw material areas and intensify product processing.
The company's product categories of salted roasted cashews and processed cashew nuts have earned consumers' trust and are extensively available in all large and small supermarket chains across the nation.
According to Mr. Tran Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of My Le Co., Ltd., "refreshing" oneself by implementing the achievements of the 4.0 technology revolution has become more essential and urgent than ever before in light of the trend of increasing market competition.
Afin d'accroître sa compétitivité sur les marchés intérieurs et extérieurs, My Le always upholds the spirit of creativity and innovation in production technology, substituting domestic machinery and equipment for imported machinery and equipment; researching and producing a variety of cashew kernel products, thereby enhancing the reputation of each My Le product.
Binh Phuoc cashews are firm with a rigid shell, bright, smooth, and glossy; generate no sound when shaken; contain no more than 200 seeds per kilogram; and weigh between 5 and 7 grams per seed. Particularly, Binh Phuoc salt-roasted cashews have a small void in the center, with no residual salt, when the cashew kernels are separated. The fat content is at least 43%, and the carbohydrate content is greater than 23%; the high fat and carbohydrate content explains the sweet, aromatic, and oily flavor of Binh Phuoc salted roasted cashews.
My Le Co., Ltd. has partnered with cooperatives and farmers to cultivate and sell cashews since 2012 so as to have access to a pure source of raw materials. In addition to providing farmers with seedlings, the company develops the planting and care procedure for organic cashew trees and distributes diary journals to farmers so they can trace the origin of cashew nuts. Due to this, the company now has hundreds of hectares of raw cashew kernels to assure strict quality standards.
