For consumers, they can stay at home and visit these commerce platforms to buy reputable and qualified products with reasonable prices as they desire.

The owners of the e-commerce platforms committed to provide maximum support to businesses when the two sides sign cooperation contracts with the incentives different from conventional consumers, especially on prices, shipping time and unlimited volume of freight.

Some enterprises expressed concern about the feasibility and effectiveness of the sales because these e-commerce platforms are new and little known while the characteristics of agricultural products are that they may include fresh produce which makes transport a challenge.

However, after exchanging information, the enterprises were basically excited about the advantages and incentives for bringing agricultural products to e-commerce platforms introduced, saying that they would discuss detail works for the best cooperation.

Also at the conference, representative of Cat Hai district’s Office of Agriculture and Rural Development and Bui Van Luyen, owner of the largest fish cage farm in Cat Ba Island expressed that they hoped Hai Phong Post Office and Viettel Post – Hai Phong and enterprises would help consume seafood for Cat Ba residents when they uninstall cages in accordance with the policy.

Despite being fresh products, difficult for transport and high prices, the enterprises and the two e-commerce platforms as well as leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Department discussed on how to remove difficulties for people via sales channel including e-commerce.

Nguyen Ngoc Tuat, Deputy Director of Hai Phong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said through the conference, the department wanted to help the enterprises promote the products, expand the market to boost up the consumption.

On the other hand, via e-commerce platforms, the enterprises will keep up with useful information of the market development of the agricultural products, forecasts of demand and farm production capacity and as a result, they can adjust their business plans suitably.

Thereby, contributing to avoiding congestion of agricultural products at peak harvest time. Thanks to new, modern and sustainable sales channel, farmers can sell their product at stable prices and no longer depend on middlemen and traders. “Currently, we help connect 45 agro-forestry enterprises to the e-commerce platforms and there are 106 agricultural and OCOP product codes on the e-commerce platforms,” said Tuat.
