According to this project, Bac Giang province plans to harvest over 1 million cubic meters of raw wood annually until 2025; and over 1.2 million cubic meters annually from 2026 to 2030, with a focus on producing only legally sourced wood and wood products. Additionally, the local forestry sector will be developed towards multiple values, including tourism products in association with natural landscapes in forest areas. The project aims to promote production, processing, and consumption chains for local forestry products. Furthermore, the project will establish brands for various local forest products, with a focus on medicinal plants and products processed from medicinal plants grown under forest canopies. The project targets to double the income of forest workers by 2025 compared to 2020, and to account for 50% of the average provincial income by 2030.

The project proposed multiple solutions in order to achieve the aforementioned goals, including the development of integrated agricultural, forestry, and fishery economic models such as forest gardens, forest farms, medicinal plant cultivation, and livestock farming under forest canopies.

Local sustainable forest development efforts will focus on cultivating perennial trees for large timber; cultivating indigenous tree species; utilizing selective harvesting as an alternative to clear-cutting; preventing vegetation burning; and promoting participation in forest certification programs.
