Bac Giang lychee qualified to export to all markets

Bac Giang's Plant Protection and Cultivation Sub-Department said that lychee samples (mainly in the early ripening lychee granary in Tan Yen district) sent to Eurofins Sac Ky Hai Dang Co., Ltd have all 821 indicators met requirements for export.

The Eurofins network has more than 900 facilities in more than 50 countries around the world. In Vietnam, this facility is an independent testing laboratory, with certifications and designations from state management agencies such as the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. Products before being exported, mainly to the European market, must be tested at Eurofins.

Le Ba Thanh, Deputy Director of the province's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that with the testing results, Bac Giang lychee was eligible for export and supply to all markets around the world.The province's Plant Protection Department continues to take about 50 more lychee samples from the main litchi barn in Luc Ngan crop for testing. Results are expected in the next few days.

According to Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade, the province's lychee is mainly exported to the Chinese market, with more than 95 per cent of market share. The rest is exported to countries such as Japan, the US, South Korea, the EU and Cambodia.

In total, Bac Giang has 149 growing area codes with a total area of ​​more than 15,000 ha exported to China; 34 codes with more than 274 ha to Japan; 19 codes with more than 230 ha to the US and the EU and two codes with 20 ha to Thailand.
