An Phuoc Viramie Agriculture JSC just held a ceremony to announce the 2022 - 2026 Development Strategy, emphasizing the business strategy of bringing different products to the high-end market segment and focusing on the EU market.

In addition, there will be many high-quality, stable varieties in the field of research. The company will promote mechanization and automation in the raw material production and growing process. An Phuoc Viramie plans to become a public company in 2023 and will be listed on the Vietnamese stock exchange in 2026.

When assessing and speculating the demand of the world's bast fiber market, Mr. Tran Ngoc Duong, Business Manager of An Phuoc Viramie Group, said that this was an opportunity for An Phuoc Viramie to increase ramie planting areas and improve fiber productivity as well as production efficiency.

"The world market demand will continue to increase according to the forecast from 2020 - 2027. On the other hand, China has reduced its scale and output due to outdated technological equipment that causes environmental pollution."

To complete the above strategy, An Phuoc Viramie sets the goal of having a material area of 3,820 ha by 2022 concentrated in the Northern and North Central provinces. The key areas include Son La with 1,344 ha, Thanh Hoa with 1,100 ha, and Hoa Binh with 530 ha. The estimated production capacity will reach 1,660 tons/year, equivalent to an output of 1,145 tons of combed short fiber per year.

An Phuoc Viramie sets the goal of expanding the raw material area to 20,000 ha by 2032. Along with that is the investment for three decortication factories in large raw materials areas, one weaving and dyeing factory with a capacity of 3.6 million meters of fabric/year and one mixed spinning factory with a capacity of 5,200 tons/year.

And An Phuoc Viramie has a firm foundation to achieve the set goals thanks to being a pioneer in ramie planting and ramie fiber production in Vietnam. The company has a large-scale production factory with guaranteed raw material sources in Thanh Hoa and some neighboring localities.

Sharing about the achievements gained, Mr. Tran Van Tuan, Director of the ramie fiber factory, said that over the past 5 years the closed production model had created a secured value link chain with long-term economic efficiency, bringing a stable livelihood to farmers.

"Ramie not only brings profits but also increases soil fertility and helps prevent erosion. Coupled with a friendly farming orientation of pesticide usage reduction, planting ramie contributes to the implementation of the community mission of protecting the environment”.

The factory director also said that An Phuoc Viramie will continue to invest in the Center for seed research, application of science and technology and biological treatment to further promote economic efficiency associated with sustainable values.

Since coming into operation in 2020, An Phuoc Viramie ramie fiber factory in Cam Tu commune, Cam Thuy district, Thanh Hoa has created high-quality products for domestic and international markets. The factory has contributed to realizing the production - processing - consumption chain in the western mountainous districts of Thanh Hoa province.

Dry ramie fiber is being completely underwritten by the factory at the moment with prices ranging from VND 39,000 to 45,000 per kg depending on the grade and quality. The factory is producing batches of products that meet standards from the quality test.

When put into stable operation An Phuoc Viramie can supply 1,700 tons of ramie fiber to the market every year, creating jobs for over 600 workers and securing the livelihood of thousands of workers in raw materials areas.

"We are determined to constantly innovate to create an ecosystem of high-quality products for the domestic textile industry and international markets based on the sustainable development of the ramie value chain in Vietnam", said Mr. Tran Van Tuan.
