Active trade offering on the e-commerce platform

Following a series of events within the framework of the key product exhibition from provinces and cities in Binh Dinh from June 24 to July 3, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) coordinated with Binh Dinh Department of Industry and Trade to organize a workshop on training and e-commerce connection for businesses in Binh Dinh and the central provinces,

At the workshop, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Huyen, Deputy Director of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, advised businesses, cooperatives and people to actively engage in "online offering" on the domestic and foreign e-commerce platform, in addition to the local government's connectivity efforts.

In response to the Campaign for Vietnamese consumers prioritizing Vietnamese goods, many provinces and cities have coordinated with the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy and partnersto organize e-commerce connection programs, activities to develop markets and promote consumption of Vietnamese products. This is an opportunity for Binh Dinh key agricultural products to seek and expand consumption markets, enhancing values ​​and brands", said Ms. Huyen.

Leaders of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy also proposed several cooperation options between the stakeholders. Accordingly, e-commerce and logistics businesses will provide information and guide businesses, cooperatives and local suppliers on requirements, procedures and documents to offer their products on the e-commerce floor.

In addition, these units also support locations and advise on organizing programs to promote agricultural products, develop promotional programs, or online introduction sessions on the e-commerce platform.

For products not eligible for the system presently, the e-commerce platform will continue to guide businesses, cooperatives and production households to promptly complete the requirements and procedures.

"Promoting the connection of agricultural products consumption through e-commerce platforms is an important solution to promote rural economic development, support agricultural production households as well as individual business households, cooperatives, among others promoting, introducing, consuming products and expanding the market in the current digital economy era", emphasized Ms. Huyen. 

The digital transformation policy is currently implemented at all levels, from central to local, in all wakes of life. Namely, agricultural digital transformation is one of the groups that receive the most attention from the Government.

In order to train, advise and support businesses, cooperatives in digital transformation, the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy coordinates with localities and stakeholders to deploy e-commerce applications, digital solutions, digital finance applications in the development of modern production and trade.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Kha, Deputy Director of Binh Dinh Department of Industry and Trade, reported that gardeners, farm owners, cooperatives, agricultural outsourcing businesses, and local exporters are no stranger to online business activities. However, sales are still low with many units facing difficulties in operating on e-commerce platforms.

Consumption of agricultural products through e-commerce channels is an inevitable trend, according to Mr. Kha. Along with traditional consumption, online sales channels through e-commerce platforms help farmers to introduce their products to consumers across the country and find favorable consumption.

Developing consumption of local products through e-commerce in the domestic market is also a path to join the international major e-commerce platforms.

Leaders of Binh Dinh Department of Industry and Trade also suggested the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy continue to accompany in promoting e-commerce applications and develop modern production and trade. Subsequently, Binh Dinh businesses can utilize support policies by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, e-commerce platforms, shipping units as well as intermediary payment partners. 

With great potential for agricultural products and local specialties, Vietnam is forecast to have great opportunities to promote consumption on the e-commerce platform, as well as high export potential, in the context that Vietnam is promoting international economic integration through free trade agreements.

Exhibition of key products from Binh Dinh were on dislay at 400 booths introducing agricultural products, OCOP products, local specialties from districts, towns and cities in the province, with multiple quality products from nearly 30 neighboring provinces and cities.
