9 out of 10 cashew nuts sold in the US are from Vietnam

In 2020, the US continued to increase Vietnam's cashew nuts imports while reducing from other countries. Therefore, Vietnam cashew nuts have accounted for approximately 90% of the US market share.
 

According to the US International Trade Commission, the US cashew imports in 2020 reached 167,100 tons, worth US$ 1.08 billion.

In 2020, the US increased the importation of cashew nuts from Vietnam, reaching 149,270 tons, worth US$ 963.13 million, up 12.5% ​​in volume, but down 4.2% in value compared to 2019.

The US increased the import of cashew nuts from Vietnam and reduced from Brazil, India, and Indonesia. As a result, Vietnam cashew nuts continued to account for higher proportion in the US’s total amount of imported cashew nuts. In 2019, the proportion of the US imported cashew nuts from Vietnam was 85.65%, and, up to 89.3% in 2020. Meanwhile, imported volume from other countries accounted for a much low proportion, including Brazil with 3.91%; Indonesia with 2.36% ...

It can be said that, with Vietnam cashew nuts accounting for approximately 90%, for every 10 cashew nuts sold in the US market, up to 9 are from Vietnam.
