The 9th Green Startup Project Competition was organized by the Business Research and Support Center (BSA) in collaboration with various organizing units. A total of 108 projects were selected to compete in the semi-finals from 33 provinces and municipalities, and they went through three rounds of semi-finals to reach the final round, with 37 projects making it to the finals.

Among these 37 projects, Bac Kan province had the highest number of projects in the finals with 4 projects. Dong Thap and Quang Nam provinces each had 3 projects, while Ho Chi Minh City, Tra Vinh, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Nghe An, and Thanh Hoa each had 2 projects. The remaining provinces had 1 project each.

During the final competition, Ms. Vu Kim Anh, Deputy Director of the BSA Center, stated that in the 10 years of the Green Startup journey, they have built a strong, young, and skilled entrepreneurial force in various regions, from the North to the South. These entrepreneurs are adept at utilizing technology to create new products with high standards. Some of these projects have even received organic certifications from demanding markets like the United States, the European Union, and Japan.

To support these young entrepreneurs during the competition, Ms. Vu Kim Anh mentioned that the BSA Center had organized 14 training sessions in various provinces throughout the year, including An Giang, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Nam Dinh, Nghe An, Cao Bang, Ninh Thuan, and Dak Lak. These training sessions provided opportunities for young entrepreneurs to enhance their knowledge and skills necessary for the successful implementation of their projects. The program has also spread the message of green entrepreneurship in the fields of agriculture, agricultural tourism, and the innovative use of local resources.

According to Ms. Vu Kim Anh, the total value of this year's awards exceeded 1.2 billion Vietnamese dong. Projects receiving awards have the opportunity to participate in various activities, including international trade fairs related to agriculture and food, advanced business development training, trade promotion, practical standards, study tours at businesses, farms, and training by experts, consulting services for LocalGap, brand building, and trade promotion, as well as vouchers for agricultural supplies and office equipment. There are also awards for creating films, YouTube videos, and TikTok content.

Ms. Nguyen Cam Chi, Chair of the Youth Development Support Fund (FYE) Board of Directors and a member of the evaluation committee, noted that compared to the previous year, there were more projects in this year's finals, and these projects demonstrated greater progress. In particular, young participants applied technology and showed increased interest in sustainable development.

"We hope that you are not only knowledgeable entrepreneurs who love your products but also knowledgeable entrepreneurs who can develop and take your products to the international market," said Ms. Cam Chi.

According to Mr. Nguyen Lam Vien, a member of the judging panel and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vinamit, resilience and sustainability shorten the path to bringing happiness and life to everyone for entrepreneurs.

"We are not afraid of challenges, but what's important is that we have a path to follow. Congratulations to all of you for embarking on the path of green entrepreneurship. Don't lose heart in the face of failures. Green entrepreneurship is a new global trend. As Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan once said, we must sow the seeds for our future through the path of green entrepreneurship," Mr. Nguyen Lam Vien encouraged young farmers.

Mr. Vien hopes that the competition will discover winners and honor new ideas from young farmers, new-generation farming practices, changes in consumer habits, and a new agriculture that serves life and brings happiness to everyone.

As one of the contestants in the final round, Le Minh Vuong, the project leader of Circular Agriculture with GC-Plus application, expressed his desire to utilize agricultural waste products, such as livestock and poultry manure, discarded fruits, to recycle and produce liquid biological fertilizers and microbial bran. This can serve farms and provide farmers with the best quality and cost-effective products, aiming at organic and sustainable agriculture.

"By participating in this competition, we hope to find interested investors to invest in establishing a professional fertilizer company in Ninh Thuan. From there, we can recycle and utilize all agricultural waste in Ninh Thuan and the Central region to create green, clean, and safe fertilizers, which will help protect the environment and reduce greenhouse gas emissions," Le Minh Vuong shared.

During this event, the organizers launched a book titled "Green Entrepreneurship, 10 Years of Building a Generation of Vietnamese Farmers from Local Resources." The book contains numerous stories recounting the journey of building and developing these young farmers up to the present day.
