Vietnam strives to process at least 3,000 tons of latex

(VAN) As a long term business partner of Sailun Group in China, Ha Tinh Rubber One Member Limited Liability Company supplies this business with nearly 3,000 tons of latex on average every year.

The period from 2008 to 2009 was considered the golden age of the rubber plant. At the time, Ha Tinh Rubber Company had not invested in building a processing factory, and all of the latex harvested by the company was exported directly to China.

After the processing plant was put into operation in 2011, Ha Tinh Rubber Company has processed latex not only to support the company itself but also to help Huong Khe Rubber Company as well as the local people of Huong Khe, Huong Son, Ky Anh and Vu Quang districts.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Truong, Director of the processing plant, reported that due to the old line, continuous damage to machinery, and a 2-month hiatus without latex for processing, Ha Tinh Rubber Company only aimed to process 2,500 to 3,000 tons of SVR10 latex annually in recent years.

Thanks to high latex productivity in 2022, the Company expects to process at least 3,500 tons of latex by the end of this year, exceeding the plan established by Sailun Group and the Company.

“Because input materials for latex processing are incredibly unstable, there would be months of rush in latex, whereas there would be no latex available for processing from February to April, so the Company's processing work faces countless challenges. Other times, when the partner requires a large amount of products, workers have to work overtime day and night, so the factory can't take the initiative in production and processing", Mr. Truong shared.

A latex packaging worker said that the factory had to supply 3 containers of products to partners just a few days ago, so all of the workers had to work overtime continuously. Workers are excited for the extra workload and pay, but they want the company to calculate and balance the amount of latex regularly brought to the factory to avoid cases of work overload as well as work inactivity.

According to Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan, General Director of Ha Tinh Rubber Company, the weather conditions in 2022 are more favorable compared to previous years, with less rain, the storms, and droughts are not too harsh, so the Company's output of latex is expected to exceed the target by the end of the year. Namely, the output is estimated at 2,000 tons of latex while Sailun Group initially target 1,850 tons.

Rubber farms such as Phan Dinh Phung, Thanh Nien, Can Loc, etc. achieved exceptional productivity, in addition to uniform and high quality latex.

Investment in upgrading the factory line is necessary to enhance the processing capacity.

“Ever since the factory came into operation, we mainly supply SVR10 latex as a loyal customer of Sailun Vietnam Co., Ltd (under China Sailun Group). The Group has researched, produced, and offered tire services in over 100 countries in Europe, America, Asia and Africa", said Mr. Toan.

Regarding the task of increasing production efficiency per unit area, in addition to assigning workers to farms to nurture and harvest, Ha Tinh Rubber Company has introduced several rubber varieties that are resistant to sunny and cold starting from 2022. Initial results have shown that the new varieties are compatible with the land and soil of Ha Tinh province, with exemplary demonstrated in the land of Huong Khe district.

Additionally, the company also cooperated with Japha comfeed Vietnam to raise processed chickens under the rubber canopy. So far, 8 chicken coops have been put into operation, and the Company has started to stock the second and third litters.

Mr. Vo Sy Luc, General Director of Huong Khe Rubber Company, said that the company's farms began to produce latex from 2017. By 2020, the amount of latex was relatively stable, with an annual output of approximately 1,000 tons. Vietnam CNCS Group targeted to reach 1,350 tons in 2022, but the harvest is expected to exceed the target by 200 tons. Farms such as Son Hong in Huong Son district, and Huong Giang, Huong Long, Phuong Dien, Ha Linh in Huong Khe district have all exceeded the target plan. This is a very positive signal for a relatively new Vietnam CNCS Corporation.

According to Mr. Luc, with the aforementioned output of latex, the resources to pay rent for processing latex as well as salaries, bonuses for workers and regular operation of the company are secured. At the very least, it is a positive signal for the company after many years of operating at a loss.
