The Vietnam Economic Forum is conducted for the first time in the metropolitan city, with the theme "Building an independent and self-reliant economy associated with integration in the new normal stage".
The event also features the Head of the Party Central Committee's Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia, the Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, the Minister of Finance Ho Duc Pho, the Governor of the State Bank Nguyen Thi Hong, the Chairman of the Municipal People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City Phan Van Mai, and representatives of embassies and international organizations in Vietnam.
This is an annual event held by the Economic Commission of the Central Committee. This year's forum, which is held in a hybrid format is expected to serve as a foundation for establishing significant socioeconomic policies and orientations.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has highlighted the building of an independent and self-reliant economy with extensive integration in the current context at a number of domestic and international forums, including a speech at Harvard University in May during his working visit to the United States.
During the thematic panels of this Vietnam Economic Forum, delegates will discuss the development of a stable labor supply chain in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, the growth of the capital and real estate markets, technological reform, digital transformation, and the diversification of the supply chain.

The plenary session will focus on the global economy and significant trends in international economic cooperation; Vietnam in the global economy: opportunities and challenges; digital technology manpower serving digital transformation, digital economy development, and digital society promotion; and risk governance.
