Cooperatives apply e-commerce to improve production and business quality

Within the framework of the Trade Promotion Fair for Cooperatives 2022 (Coop-Expo) organized on June 9 in Hanoi, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance held a workshop on "Application of e-commerce, promotion of trade and investment for Cooperatives in 2022”.

The workshop is an opportunity for cooperatives, businesses and investors to cooperate, link production, improve productivity, product quality as well as coordinate in consuming domestic and foreign agricultural products; provide input and output services between businesses and cooperatives; businesses, organizations and cooperatives can promote their key services and products, creating opportunities for cooperation and investment.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao, Chairman of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance said at the workshop that in the 4.0 technology era, the development of e-commerce has contributed significantly to economic growth, helping cooperatives reach and retain customers effectively.

During the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance has built an e-commerce platform to support cooperatives and cooperative groups with the consumption of products as well as connect with consuming businesses; thereby helping cooperatives across the country in consuming over 200,000 tons of agricultural products with an estimated value of thousands of billion VND.

“One of the key tasks of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance system is to support all its members in applying e-commerce in production and business activities. The Vietnam Cooperative Alliance will continue to implement the Information Technology Modernization Project to connect the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, the Cooperative Alliance of provinces and cities with cooperatives nationwide, shared Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Bao.

The cooperatives participating in the workshop also discussed directly with representatives of the consumption, investment and input supply units including Vinaconex Mart, Grab Vietnam, TikTok Vietnam, Saigon Co.op, Postmart.vn, etc. As a result, cooperatives can acquire further information to find the most suitable unit to connect and register with the Organizing Committee.

From June 8-13, 2022 in Hanoi, the Trade Promotion Fair for Cooperatives 2022 (Coop-Expo) organized by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance is an opportunity to support cooperatives with accessing and sharing business cooperation opportunities, trade promotion, commodity development; they can also exchange and negotiate with import-export businesses, domestic and foreign goods distributors and so on.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Fair had over 200 cooperatives from 50 Cooperative Unions of different provinces and central cities; Over 100 businesses in association with cooperatives brought goods to the Fair with over 250 exhibition booths.

Cooperatives and businesses have brought thousands of agricultural products, food, medicinal herbs, handicrafts, technology, plant varieties, products and materials for agricultural production, high quality consumer goods.
