(VAN) Earlier this week, Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien inspected the progress of the DACOVAC-ASF2 trial for the African swine fever vaccine in Soc Son, Hanoi.
(VAN) The Department of Animal Health and related units have received directives to complete the procedures to announce the vaccine as soon as possible.
(VAN)- The central province has culled nearly 1,600 pigs infected with African swine fever (ASF) with a total weight of over 117 tonnes as the disease re-emerged in 38 communes of eight districts.
African swine fever is re-emerging in Asia, threatening to upend efforts to replenish national herds after the virus killed tens of millions of pigs in the region and created a huge shortage of meat protein.
New variants of African swine fever (ASF) in China seem to cause a milder form of the disease, making it less deadly but also harder to detect and control.
In response to National Assembly delegates, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Xuan Cuong (MARD) said that, testing of some domestically produced vaccine batches got very positive results.
